Society and Reading: Russian region that reads the most is announced

On October 23, 2018 the jury of the All-Russian Contest “The Region that Reads the Most” chaired by Sergey Stepashin, the President of the Russian Book Union, summed up the results of the contest of the year and chose the Literary Leader of Russia- 2018.

Irkutsk Region has been announced the winner of the contest and given the title “Literary Leader of Russia”. The project of the winning region called “Irkutsk Region of Reading - 80” marks the 80th anniversary of the region’s foundation. Laureates of the contest are Moscow, Volgograd and Leningrad Regions. The contest was launched in April 2018 and brought together 82 regions.
