History and Culture: “A Desire for Antiquity” exhibition in St. Petersburg presents drawings and architectural models of ancient architecture

On November 14, 2018 the Academy of Arts (Universitetskaya Embankment, St. Petersburg) is opening a new exhibition “A Desire for Antiquity”, which showcases drawings and architectural models of ancient architecture. Over 200 exhibits in the Titian and Catherine Halls were created during 18th-21st cc. At the core of the exhibition are artworks of St. Petersburg architect Maxim Borisovich Atayants over a span of a quarter of a century (1990s – 2018). The joint project of the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts and prominent St. Petersburg artist and architect Maxim Borisovich Atayants is one of the key events of the 7th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
