Society and Church: The Church of John the Blessed re-opened after renovations at the Cathedral of the Intercession in Moscow
26 November 2018
On November 23, 2018 the inauguration of the renovated Church of John the Blessed was held at the Cathedral of the Intercession (Moscow, Red Square, 1).
The re-opening of the monument on Red Square, which had been neglected, is a momentous event in the history of the church and in the spiritual life of modern Russia. This is the only church that glorifies the name of St. John the Blessed. Religious services will be resumed in the church on saint’s days. A nearly century-long process of museumification of the Cathedral of the Intercession is now completed. All of its 11 churches are now available to believers, visitors and museum guests
