Exhibitions: “Red, Yellow and White” exposition in St. Petersburg presents museum artifacts made of organic materials

The exhibition “Red, Yellow and White” opened on November 28, 2018 in the Russian Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg.

The exhibition emphasizes the ancient archetypical meanings of red, yellow and white colors’ symbolism. On display are museum artifacts made of coral, amber, pearls, nacre and shells. From time immemorial the objects made of these organic materials had high socio-cultural value symbolizing power, wealth, prestige and prosperity.
