Yasnaya Polyana Museum has mounted a new special project “Final Days of Leo Tolstoy in the Press”, which features the accounts of those, who witnessed the last days of life of Leo Tolstoy.

The death of Leo Tolstoy, referred to as ‘final days’ – are events that took place from October 28 (November 10) to November 7 (20), 1910 when Tolstoy passed away in Yasnaya Polyana. Those 11 days came as a blow to writer's contemporaries.

Creators of the project have built up a collection, which includes materials, printed in the autumn of 1910, and selected over 30 extracts from newspaper reports, which in a chronological order describe final days and the death of the great writer.
