History of Moscow: Exhibition “Matvey Kazakov and Moscow Before the Fire” mounted in Moscow

On November 28, 2018 the Shchusev Museum of Architecture staged “Matvey Kazakov and Moscow Before the Fire” exhibition. The exhibition marks the 280th anniversary of the birth of the Moscow architect. This is the first retrospective of Kazakov’s works in recent decades. On display are original projects, drawings, engravings, and three-dimensional models of buildings made by Matvey Kazakov.

The display showcases exhibits from the Shchusev Museum of Architecture, the State Historical Museum, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the State Hermitage Museum, the State Russian Museum, the Russian State Historical Archive and other major collections. It will be open until March 10, 2019.
