The exhibition “The First Admiralty”, which marks 325 years since the establishment of the first shipyard in Russia, has been staged in the Northern Maritime Museum (Arkhangelsk).
The work began at Solombala shipyard after the first visit of Peter I to Arkhangelsk, which took place in 1693. The Solombala shipyard, that was part of the Arkhangelsk Admiralty, built ships for the Russian fleet during the hardest times in the history of the country. A truly impressive number of wooden sailing vessels, mainly for the Baltic Fleet, were built there.
