Internet and Libraries: The National Library of Russia presents an updated website of the Manuscripts Department

The National Library of Russia has launched an updated website of the Manuscripts Department. It has modern design and user-friendly interface and provides access to original projects.

The Manuscripts Department – a special department of the Imperial Public Library - was established in accordance with the rescript of Emperor Alexander I of February 27 (March 11, new style) 1805. It became Russia’s first state repository of manuscripts available to readers and researchers.
