Memory of Russia: Exhibition “In Commemoration of Heroism of Besieged Leningrad” to open in St. Petersburg

A traditional exhibition “In Commemoration of Heroism of Besieged Leningrad” will be open January 15 – 26, 2019 in the Grand Hall of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. This year the display is marking the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege.

During the siege the Leningrad Union of Artists not only continued its work, but was also used as a weapon to attack the enemy with biting satire, and became an example of courage and firmness. The visual arts of Leningrad, created during the siege, have no analogues.
