The Year of Theatre in Russia 2019: The All-Russian Theatre Marathon to kick off in Vladivostok

The All-Russian Theatre Marathon is kicking off in Vladivostok on January 18, 2019. The grand opening ceremony will be focused on the history of the theatre in Russia. It will be inaugurated at the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on Culture.RF portal.

The Theatre Marathon will run throughout the year 2019 and cover all 85 regions of Russia. After the start in Vladivostok the Primorsky Drama Theatre will present its plays at the Khabarovsk Music Theatre, the Khabarovsk Drama Theatre will set off to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and then artists of the Chekhov Sakhalin International Theatre Center will perform in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. All regional theatres of Russia will continue the tour relay by participating in it one by one so as to reach Kaliningrad by the end of the year.
