Society and Culture: Exhibition “Russian Geniuses Abroad. Return of the Names” to open in Krasnodar

The exhibition “Russian Geniuses Abroad. Return of the Names” will be staged on January 25, 2019 in the F. A. Kovalenko Krasnodar Territory Art Museum. The exposition showcases graphic works by ten great artists from Russia, who are famous all over the world.  

Vasily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, Alexander Alexeev, Andrey Lanskoy, Natalya Goncharova, Ivan Puni, Ilya Grekov, Konstantin Tereshkovich, Sonia Delaunay, Grigory Pozhidayev – these artists won worldwide fame. Nevertheless some of them did not become famous in the homeland, in Russia.

All the artists, whose works are presented at the exhibition, were born in the Russian Empire, but for some reasons each of them had to leave their native country. It was abroad that they won fame. Each of them made a contribution to the world art and the cultural revolution in Europe.
