Peoples of Russia: Ethnographic exhibition “White Moon. The Kalmyk Collection of the Astrakhan Museum-Reserve” staged in Astrakhan

On February 5, 2019 the Astrakhan Museum of Local History is mounting an ethnographic exhibition “White Moon. The Kalmyk Collection of the Astrakhan Museum-Reserve”. It is timed to coincide with the celebration of an ancient Kalmyk festival of Sagaalgan or Tsagaan Sar, which marks the beginning of spring. The exhibition casts light on the everyday life and religion of the Kalmyks.
