World Memory: Updated exhibition about the war in Afghanistan to kick off in the Victory Museum in Moscow

On February 15, 2019 the Victory Museum in Moscow is mounting an updated exposition “Faithful to Heroic Traditions”. This exhibition project is dedicated to Soviet servicemen, who performed their military duty in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan in 1979–1989.

The 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Soviet forces from the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan will be marked on February 15. The Day of Remembrance of the Russians who Served Abroad is an official commemorative date in the Russian Federation. It was established in 2011 and is marked every year on February 15.
