The Year of Theatre in Russia 2019: Exhibition timed to 25th anniversary of the Samoylov Memorial Museum Apartment to open in St. Petersburg

The exhibition “Artist by the Imperial Decree” timed to the 25th anniversary of the Samoylov Memorial Museum Apartment is about to open in St. Petersburg.

The exhibition compares the grand and backstage life of theatres in the 19th century. It showcases paintings, prints, drawings, photographs and unique objects from the collections of the Museum of Theatre and Music Art, and those on loan from the State Hermitage Museum. The documentary exposition includes rare archival documents from the collections of the Russian State Historical Archive.

The exhibition will be open through December 15, 2019.
