Society and Culture: “Art Nouveau” exhibition project to open in Moscow

26 April 2019

On April 26, 2019 the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture (Moscow) is presenting the exhibition project “Art Nouveau”, which will become the first attempt made in a long time to form an opinion about a possible permanent exhibition. The museum had to close it in 1991, when the exhibits were urgently moved from Donskoy Monastery to a building in Vozdvizhenka Street.

Art Nouveau (“Modern”) is a complex, contradictory period of development of Russian art, which was full of unusual creative solutions. The Museum of Architecture houses a large collection of objects created at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries.
