7 May 2019

The Library of Congress has launched a new digital collection of classic works of children’s books, which were published more than 100 years ago.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Children’s Book Week (April 29 to May 5), the Library of Congress has launched a unique online collection of 67 historically significant children’s books published more than 100 years ago. Children’s book selections are digital versions of classic works still read by children today and of lesser-known books.

Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national festivity of books for young people, which has been celebrated in all the U.S. states since 1913.
