Marking the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture: New exhibition kicked off in Orel

May 24 marks the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. On this occasion the Bunin Orel Regional Library is mounting a book exhibition, which is open in its reading room.

This holiday is associated with the names of brothers Saints Cyril and Methodius - Slavic educators, inventors of the Slavic alphabet, Christian preachers, the first translators of the Holy Scripture and a number of liturgical books from Greek into Slavic.

The exhibition showcases books and articles from periodicals with illustrations and photographs related to the life and educational activities of Saints Cyril and Methodius, as well as the literature about Ivan Fyodorov - the pioneer of printing in Russia.

The exhibition will be open until June 2.
