Libraries and Society: Petrozavodsk to become the Library Capital of Russia-2020

A host city for the National Library Congress next year was announced on May 16, 2019 at the closing ceremony of the National Library Congress: 24th Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association. The Library Capital of Russia-2020 title was given to Petrozavodsk.

V. N. Lebedeva, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, announced that the Republic of Karelia would celebrate its centenary in 2020 and added that it was a great honour to host the National Library Congress on that occasion.
