Society and Science: Conference “Documentary Heritage of Novgorod and Novgorod Region. Problems of Preservation and Scientific Use” underway

On May 23, 2019 the Institute of Humanities of the Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University is holding the 19th Annual Scientific Conference “Documentary Heritage of Novgorod and Novgorod Region. Problems of Preservation and Scientific Use”, which marks the centenary of the archival service of Novgorod Region. The state and municipal archives of Novgorod Region currently house more than 2,600,000 items. These are priceless documents, which have preserved the diverse information related to the history of Novgorod land for modern generations.

The conference has brought together over 40 specialists from state and municipal archives, research institutes, museums, libraries, institutions of higher and secondary education, regional historians from Veliky Novgorod, districts of Novgorod Region and St. Petersburg.
