International events: Opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Russia in Vietnam and the Cross Year of Vietnam in Russia took place in Moscow

On May 22, 2019 the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc launched the Russia-Vietnam Cross Years. The gala ceremony was held in Zaryadye Concert Hall in Moscow.

The Prime Minister of Russia emphasized that the idea of holding the cross years underlined special multifaceted nature of the Russian-Vietnamese cooperation. He noted that the meeting coincided with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of signing of the Agreement on Friendly Relations between Russia and Vietnam and the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations.
