Year of Theatre in Russia 2019: Exhibition “Moscow Art Theatre – 20th Century. Treasures of the Theatre” staged in Rostov-on-Don

The Sholokhov Centre of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve (Rostov-on-Don) presents the exhibition “Moscow Art Theatre – 20th Century. Treasures of the Theatre” from the collection of the Moscow Art Theatre Museum, which will be open until September 9, 2019 within the Year of Theatre in Russia.

The exhibition showcases unique exhibits, treasures of the theatre: costumes, bills, sketches and models of stage sets, photographs of all Chekhov’s dramatic productions, and performances, such as Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich, The Mad Day, or the Marriage of Figaro, Othello, Anna Karenina, The Snow Maiden, A Month in the Country, which were important events in the life of the Art Theatre. Each object keeps not only the history of the theatre, which spans more than 120 years, but also the memory of people, who contributed to its foundation.
