Museums and Society: The Novgorod Museum-Reserve and the Tretyakov Gallery team up to present “Step into History” - an exhibition of works of Russian artists of the mid-19th – early 20th centuries

The Novgorod Museum-Reserve (Main Building) presents the exhibition “Step into History. Works of Russian Artists of the mid-19th – early 20th Centuries from the Collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery and the Novgorod Museum-Reserve”. The exhibition will be open through August 6, 2019.

The joint exhibition project “Step into History” is one of the highlights of exhibition activities of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve in 2019. For the first time K. Lebedev’s monumental historical canvas “Martha the Mayoress. Destruction of the Novgorod Veche” (1889) from the Tretyakov Gallery’s collection has been put on display in the heart of the Novgorod Kremlin.
