History and Culture: Exhibition dedicated to the Battle of Poltava staged in the Pushkin Museum-Reserve

On June 12, 2019 the Pushkin State Museum-Reserve (Pskov Region) staged an exhibition dedicated to the Battle of Poltava from the collections of the Pushkin Museum-Reserve and private collections.

The exhibition has been launched to mark the 310th anniversary of the Battle of Poltava, the 190th anniversary of the publication of Alexander Pushkin’s Poltava narrative poem and the bicentenary of the publication of Mazeppa narrative poem by Lord Byron. It showcases chromolithographs, woodcuts, watercolor reproductions, illustrations; drawings made by the poet, portraits of historical figures, prints dating from the 18th century and a photo reproduction of M. V. Lomonosov’s “Battle of Poltava” mosaic.
