Year of Theater in Russia 2019: The exhibition “Earth On End. The History of Russian Theatrical Expressionism" in St. Petersburg

Since July 11, 2019, the St. Petersburg Museum of Theater and Musical Art in the Sheremetev Palace, the Museum of Music, presents the exhibition “Land On End. The History of Russian Theatrical Expressionism”.

A major exhibition for the first time shows rarities relating to this bright and tragic trend in the art of the 20th century. The title of the exhibition is a reminder of the famous play by Vsevolod Meyerhold (1923), based on Sergei Tretyakov’s play of the same name - a remake of Marcel Martin’s expressionist drama “The Night”.
