Internet and History: Unique documents, which spotlight the feat of defenders of the Brest Fortress, released on the website of the Ministry of Defence of Russia

Ahead of the 78th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War – June 22, 2019 – the Ministry of Defence of Russia presented a historical and patriotic section on its website, which is dedicated to the heroic defence of the Brest Fortress. It is based on the declassified documents from the collections of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defence.

The battle at “the fortress over the Bug River” became one of the first major battles of the Great Patriotic War and entered its history as a remarkable feat of our servicemen, an example of a sacrificial attitude to military duty, valor and courage.
