Memory of Russia: Novgorod Museum-Reserve to mount an exhibition in honour of Saint Sergius of Radonezh

The exhibition devoted to Saint Sergius of Radonezh is opening on June 28, 2019 in the main building of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve.

The exhibition dedicated to famous Saint Sergius of Radonezh is held in the Novgorod Museum-Reserve for the first time. It is timed to coincide with the 560th anniversary of the Church of Novgorod Princes – the oldest church in Rus', which was built in honour of the great wonderworker. The exhibition showcases about 40 monuments from the collection of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve. The fragments of murals (1459-1463) of the Church of Saint Sergius of Radonezh have never been displayed before. It also presents works of icon painting and decorative and applied art of the 16th-19th centuries, which show the wonderworker of Radonezh. The exhibition will be open until August 12.
