Commemorative Dates of Russia: The exhibition “This is Potemkin Himself!” to be mounted in St. Petersburg to mark the 280th anniversary of the birth of Prince Grigory Potemkin of Taurida

In December 2019 the State Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg) will present the exhibition “This is Potemkin Himself!”, which is timed to coincide with the 280th anniversary of the birth of Prince Grigory Potemkin of Taurida.  

The year 2019 marks the 280th anniversary of the birth of Prince Grigory Potemkin of Taurida.

This exhibition, composed of some 700 objects from the State Hermitage Museum, museums in St Petersburg, Kazan State University and private collections, will demonstrate the many sides of one of Russia’s leading statesmen of the eighteenth century.
