History and Culture: Exhibition “First Russian Saints” presented in Suzdal

9 August 2019

The Suzdal Kremlin (the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve) presents the exhibition “First Russian Saints”, which will be open until October 2, 2019.

The first Russian saints – princes Boris and Gleb – are particularly revered in our country. There are a lot of icons of Boris and Gleb, and seven works are housed in the museum-reserve. One of them will go on display as part of “The History of Suzdal” exposition at the Suzdal Kremlin. The Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve holds a large icon of Saints Boris and Gleb. It was painted at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries (a gilding and sanding technique) and restored in 2015.
