On October 11, 2019 the State Historical Museum (Moscow) is presenting an exhibition, which is dedicated to festivals, entertainments, and celebrations in Russia in the 17th — early 20th centuries. There are about 400 exhibits on display, which spotlight fun activities — booths, knuckle fighting and downhill sledging, as well as new ones — firework displays, promenades, circuses, cinema. “Archaeology of Fun” section features artifacts of the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, antiquity and the Middle Ages — the evidence of entertainments in the ancient times.
