World Culture: Vittore Carpaccio’s Two Venetian Ladies from the Museo Correr on display as part of “Masterpieces from World Museums at the Hermitage” series

14 October 2019

On October 9, 2019 Vittore Carpaccio’s work Two Venetian Ladies was put on display in the Italian Cabinet of the New Hermitage. This is one of the most famous paintings in the collection of the Museo Correr (Fondazione Musei Civici Venezia). There are no paintings by Vittore Carpaccio in Russian museums (the exhibition features a drawing by Carpaccio from the Hermitage Museum). There are few works of painting outside of Venice – the city where the artist spent almost his entire life.
