World History: Exhibition “Alexander I and Napoleon. The Meeting on the Neman” staged in Kaliningrad

The exhibition “Alexander I and Napoleon. The Meeting on the Neman” is mounted in the Kaliningrad Museum of Fine Arts. It is devoted to one of the striking and memorable moments of the European history in the early 19th century.

The meeting of two Emperors took place on June 25 (July 7) 1807 on a raft constructed in the middle of the River Neman. The negotiations between Alexander and Napoleon that followed it had a significant influence on the international politics There are around 60 exhibits from the collections of the State Hermitage Museum on display: paintings, graphic works, sculpture, pieces of applied art and numismatics, uniforms of the Russian and French armies.
