On November 1, 2019 the Volkonsky House (Yasnaya Polyana Leo Tolstoy Museum-Estate, Tula Region) is presenting an exhibition devoted to Sergei Yesenin. The exposition features poet’s personal items, paintings, publications, which were printed during his lifetime, from the collections of the Yesenin State Museum-Reserve (Konstantinovo village, Ryazan Region).
In the spotlight of the exhibition is his birthplace - Konstantinovo village - and the Caucasus (the poet had been there three times), which had an important place in the poet’s oeuvre. Another section is focused on the relationship between Sergei Yesenin and his last wife – Sofya Tolstaya-Yesenina, Leo Tolstoy’s granddaughter.
