The 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940 is marked in 2019. It became the first major challenge faced by the Red Army’s military medical service, while the experience gained during the hostilities subsequently played an important role in preparing for the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. “Mercy of the Winter War” exhibition, which is based on Soviet and Finnish sources, spotlights professionalism of military medical workers, particular features of this war and life at the frontlines.
