Memory of Russia abroad: Conference marking Daniil Granin’s centenary and 40th anniversary of The Siege Book held in Minsk

On December 2, 2019 the House of Moscow in Minsk (the Republic of Belarus) hosted a conference dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the publication of The Siege Book, written by Russian writer Daniil Granin together with Belarusian author Ales Adamovich.

The conference, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation with the participation of the Russian Embassy and the House of Moscow in Minsk, was the final event within the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture in Belarus. It is noteworthy that the conference was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege, the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 100th anniversary of Daniil Granin’s birth.
