Society and Culture: Director of Lendoc film studio gave an interview focused on the studio’s present and future

The Lendoc documentary film studio has opened its own museum and a school for young directors and actors. Head of the film studio, director Alexei Telnov, gave an interview, which spotlighted the present of the studio and its plans.

The studio traces its history back to pre-revolutionary times, although the official date of its foundation is 1932. The studio keeps thousands of hours of films and newsreel footage. Lendoc film studio is constantly involved in joint projects with world-famous film studios and television channels.

The archive of the Lendoc film studio is home to 50,000 items, which feature video footage of the Romanov family. Four films produced at the studio (Look at the Face directed by Pavel Kogan, The Summer of Maria Voynova (Maria), Soviet Elegy by Alexander Sokurov and Our Mother is a Hero by Nikolai Obukhovich) are ranked among the world’s best documentary films shot over the past 100 years. By the way, the ranking features 31 films.
