20 January 2020

Two capital parks prepared free thematic exhibitions marking the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by the expedition of Faddej Bellingshausen and Mikhail Lazarev.

The Muzeon Park of Arts displays photos by Stanislav Zakharov, the finalist of the “Primordial Russia” festival and the National Geographic contest. This year, the photographer visited Antarctica; the result of this expedition was a series of unique pictures of the harsh landscapes of the South Pole of the Earth. An exhibition entitled “Ice Continent” is available from January 15 to February 17, 2020, on the Krimskaya embankment by the dry fountain.

The Antarctic theme will be continued by an exhibition of works of foreign photographers John Weller and Paul Nicklen. The exposition “Discovering Antarctica Together” will be located on the central alley of the Vorontsovo estate. It opens from February 1 to February 22, 2020.

From January 15 to January 31, 2020, the guests of the Vorontsovo estate park can see an unusual free exposition called "Secrets of the snowy world."
