Exhibitions: An exposition "Alexander Rodchenko. From the Still Art Foundation" presented in Moscow

Since January 24, the Lumiere Brothers Center of Photography will present an exhibition of works by an outstanding Russian avant-garde artist Alexander Rodchenko from the Still Art Foundation collection, established by Elena and Michail Karisalov. The exposition includes the Rodtchenko's works of different times, beginning from the first photographic experiences of the 1920-s - 1930-s.

The exhibition features famous portraits of the artist's friends - painters, architects, poets, writers, film producers, "LEF" and "NEW LEF" magazine employees. It includes the well-known portrait of Lilya Brik, which became the basis for the poster by Lengiz, several photographs of Vladimir Mayakovsky from the first photo session in Rodchenko’s studio on Myasnitskaya street (1924). There is also the famous photograph of Osip Brik, where instead of one of the lenses of glasses, stands the title of the "LEF" magazine. The exposition also includes portraits of his family: mother, wife Varvara Stepanova, and daughter Varvara Rodchenko, architectural photographs and photo reports: the legendary "Balconies" (1925), "Fire Escape" (1925), "Staircase" (1929), as well as "Pioneer Trumpeter" (1930) and "Pioneer"(1930).
