History of Russian fleet: An exhibition "The Fleet in the Documents of the Manuscript Department: Marking the 300th anniversary of the Naval Regulations of Peter the Great" showcased at the National Library of Russia

The exhibition "The Fleet in the Documents of the Manuscript Department: Marking the 300th anniversary of the Naval Regulations of Peter the Great" is opened in the Manuscript Department of the Main Building of National Library of Russia (St. Petersburg).

The exhibition features the history of the Russian fleet from the time of Peter the Great to the beginning of the XX century. The main exhibit is the “Manifesto on the Compilation of the Naval Regulations” of January 24, 1720, with handwritten edits by Peter I, editions of the Naval Regulations, as well as documents that served as sources for its compilation.

Among the exhibits are letters and documents of Peter I about the construction of the fleet, handwritten manuals on astronomy, navigation and naval tactics.

The exhibition will run until March 20.
