Society and Culture: An Exhibition “A Writer of the Revolution” opened in Saint Petersburg marking the 150th anniversary of the Russian and Soviet artist I. A. Vladimirov

An exhibition of the works of the remarkable Russian and Soviet painter, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Ivan Vladimirov, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the artist, was opened in the Museum of Political History of Russia (Saint Petersburg). The exhibition features about 30 artworks by Vladimirov from the collection of the Museum, including ten paintings and graphics.

The artist, longing for historical truthfulness, was able to show the duality of the era: the pathos of heroism and the victories of the revolution and its “non-parade" side – devastation, suffering, hunger.
