Information Technology and Culture: “Aivazovsky. On the crest of a wave” exhibition of digital art prints to present in Tolyatti

31 January 2020

Since January 31, 2020, the Togliatti Museum of Art presents “Aivazovsky. On the crest of a wave” exhibition of reproductions made in giclee technique.

The exhibition is dedicated to the oeuvre of the great Russian marine painter Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky. Aivazovsky created about 6,000 pictures. His style in the painting sea is recognizable throughout the world and unique. The exhibition features 55 fine art digital prints of his best pictures from the Tretyakov Gallery.

Paintings are created using the giclee technique. This modern technology allows us to repeat immortal masterpieces on natural canvas and convey smallest nuances of color, character and texture of the brushstroke. Unlike copy made in oil on canvas by a professional artist, digital art print is not an imitation, but a correct reproduction of the original.
