Memory of Russia: "This Long-Awaited Day ..." exhibition, marking the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Chudovo during the Great Patriotic War to open in Novgorod region

76 years ago - on January 29, 1944, the troops of the 54th Army of the Volkhov Front during the Novgorod-Luga offensive operation liberated Chudovo from Nazi invaders. An exhibition of documents and photographs, arranged by the specialists of the Chudovo Local History Museum in the foyer of the “Svetoch” regional recreation center is marking this memorable date. The exhibition features documentary evidence of the feats of Soviet soldiers.

The updated exposition provides new data on units and subunits of the Red Army that liberated Chudovo; a map of hostilities, information about the residents who liberated the native town from the enemy.

A special section of the exhibition devoted to the first steps of the local Soviet administration to restore the town and peaceful life after the War.

The exhibition "This long-awaited day ..." will run until the end of March 2020.
