History and Culture: An exhibition “Portrait in Perspective. Tropinin's Museum collection" to open in Voronezh

An exhibition “Portrait in Perspective. Tropinin's Museum collection" was opened in the exhibition hall of Kramskoy's Voronezh Art Museum.

It is the first time when the pictures from the collection of the Museum of Vasiliy Tropinin and Moscow artists of his time are presented in Voronezh.

The exposition includes more than 40 portraits of the second half of the XXVIII century - the 40s of the XX century.

Among the paintings are the portraits by Vasily Tropinin, the main portrait painter of Moscow. In the XIX century, the artist created a gallery of Moscow residents of different social classes.

Tropinin's museum collection also presents two children's portraits by P. M. Shamshin. These and other portraits give an idea of ​​the world of childhood in the first half of the XIX century.

The exhibition also includes pieces of art by such prominent Russian painters as A.P. Antropov, I.P. Argunov, A.G. Varnek, S.V. Malyutin, as well as works by foreign artists who worked in Russia: Louis Karavak, D. B. Damon Ortolani, K. Lasha, P. A. Rotary.

The exhibition will run until March 22, 2020.
