In 2020, Russia marks the 150th anniversary of Ivan Bunin. The first meeting of the organizing committee, marking this date, was held in Moscow.

Only Voronezh - the writer's homeland, is planning to hold six dozen events: exhibitions and publishing projects, theatrical productions and Bunin's literary heritage translation contests. The anniversary of the Nobel laureate in literature will be one of the central events at the Saint-Petersburg International Cultural Forum. The anniversary date will also be widely marked in the world. Events will take place in Paris, Cairo and several cities in the USA.

In October 2020, the "Ivan Bunin in the Global Cultural Space" conference to hold at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. On October 22, the writer’s birthday, a literary and art evening, marking the anniversary, will be held on the stage of the Anton Chekhov Moscow Art Theater.
