Marking the Year of Memory and Glory: "ROSTA Posters" exhibition of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) presented in Abakan

The Republican Museum and Cultural Center of Khakassia (Abakan) launched the "ROSTA Posters" virtual exhibition of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War(1941-1945). This project is a part of the "Territory of Victory" large-scale federal project. It features about 150 artworks - a retrospective of the most striking examples of propaganda art - from lubok (Russian popular prints) and ROSTA Posters to the famous TASS prints.
The exhibition showcases the author's posters of Vladimir Mayakovsky and Kazimir Malevich, paintings of the period of the Russian-Japanese and World War I, ROSTA Posters of 1919-1921 and TASS Posters of 1941-1945. The exposition's materials were provided by the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the Victory Museum, the Russian Military-Historical Society, the Vladimir Mayakovsky State Museum, the Central Armed Forces Museum, and the Russian News Agency TASS.
Another exhibition launched in the museum and cultural center is “From the Kremlin to the Reichstag” electronic art exhibition. It was based on the graphic works collection of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War. The works of military artists feature the Great Patriotic War's most important events.
The "Territory of Victory" project aims to create an integrated space on the military history of the XX century.
The exhibition in Abakan will run until May 31, 2020.
