History and Culture: “Repin. Heritage. Followers" exhibition opened in Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts

2019 marked the 175th anniversary of Ilya Efimovich Repin. The large exhibitions were opened in the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum, which featured the true richness and diversity of the artist's oeuvre and opened new horizons for his researchers.

The Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, as well as the other museums, launched its project devoted to Repin. On February 29, 2020, it presented the “Repin. Heritage. Followers" exhibition, focusing on one of the sides of the art heritage of the “great realist” - his pedagogical activity. The exposition includes more than one hundred works of painting and graphics by Ilya Efimovich Repin and his famous students from nine Russian museums and a private collection.

The exhibition showcases paintings and graphic works by Repin's students and followers: Valentin Serov, Boris Kustodiev, Philip Malyavin, Nikolai Roerich, Igor Grabar, Nikolai Feshin, Konstantin Somov, Osip Braz, Alexei Yavlensky, Alexander Kurennoy, Isaac Brodsky, Stepan Kolesnikov, Alexander Makovsky, Yuri Repin.
