Museums of Russia: The State Museum-Reserve of Alexander Pushkin «Mikhailovskoye» opened a new exhibition as part of the "Time Run" exhibition project

7 March 2020

The State Museum-Reserve of Alexander Pushkin «Mikhailovskoye» (Pskov Region) presented a new exposition as part of the "Time Run" large exhibition project. It is entitled - "Hurry to My Chilly Garden, the Charming Flora Lovers!"

The exhibition contains materials from various museum collections and covers almost three centuries of Russian art. It features paintings and drawings, rare photographs, unique items of decorative and applied art (including beadwork, embroidery, porcelain dishes decorated with floral motifs, etc.). It also presents self-made albums and old books of XVIII - early XIX centuries, that are rarely showcased in museums, because of a special regime and exhibiting conditions. Books about the importance of gardens and parks and their cultivation and structure are showcased in a  specially restored mansion’s  interior with an old clock, secretary and chair of the XIX century. It should be noted, that such publications were highly demanded in the noble estates of the Pushkin time.

The "Hurry to My Chilly Garden, the Charming Flora Lovers!" exhibition will run until the end of December.
