World History: "Way to the Stars!" exhibition marking the first extravehicular activity presented at the National Library of Russia

The National Library of Russia (Saint-Petersburg) opened the "Way to the Stars!" exhibition, which is marking the first extravehicular activity.

The exposition features original posters, postcards, photographs, albums of the 1957-1980s. - the time of space exploration’s beginning. Most of the materials are devoted to the exit into open space, performed by the Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov on March 18, 1965.

The exhibition also showcases original posters for the "Space Flight" (1935), "Moscow-Cassiopeia" (1974) films. The wide range of presented materials, as well as the high level of their design, spotlights the space theme in Soviet mass culture.

The exhibition will run until April 15.
