История России: Выставка «МостыaHistory of Russia: "Bridges Hanged Over Waters" exhibition opened in Saint-Petersburg повисли над водами» открылась в Санкт-Петербурге

The "Bridges Hanged Over Waters" book-illustrative exhibition was launched in the New Building of the National Library of Russia.

The exposition features editions on the history of bridge-building. It spotlights the most beautiful bridges in Russia and other countries.

Today there are about 800 bridges in the city and suburbs, 342 of them are in the historical center of Saint-Petersburg.

Each bridge has own history, which is highlighted by the exhibition's materials. 

Pre-revolutionary certificates of inventions (patents) in the field of bridge-building - the so-called "Privileges", features the creative thought and level of Russian scientific achievements from 1865 until the Revolution of 1917. This set of documents is the pride of the regulatory and technical documentation collection of the National Library of Russia.

The exhibition will run until March 24.
