History and Culture: “Fazil Iskander. Man and his surroundings" exhibition opened in Moscow

March 6, 2020 is marking the 99 birthday of the last classic of Russian literature - Fazil Iskander (1929–2016). The Museum of the Silver Age, which is a department of the Vladimir Dal State Museum of the History of Russian Literature in Moscow, opened an exhibition devoted to the writer.

The exhibition features Fazil Iskander as a prose writer and poet, philosopher, thinker, author of brilliant, bold and often paradoxical aphorisms, as well a writer reflecting on God and faith.

The main place at the exhibition is occupied by the texts of Fazil Iskander. Among the exhibits are unique photographs (most of them are showcased for the first time), first editions of works, letters, autographs, documents, illustrations by artists, Iskander portraits by Boris Birger, the writer's desk and his personal belongings, posters of theatrical performances of his plays. Lots of these items were provided by the writer’s family.

The exhibition will run until April 14.
