Regions of Russia: "Coast of Dreams. Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Southern Coast of Crimea" photo exhibition presented in Moscow

16 March 2020

The Russian State Library (Moscow) opened an exhibition of the works by photographer Yuri Molodkovets entitled "Coast of Dreams. Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Southern Coast of Crimea". The exhibition was arranged as part of the joint project of the State Hermitage Museum and the Dmitri Likhachev Foundation - "Southern Coast of Crimea - World Heritage Site".

The southern coast of Crimea is a 70-kilometer coastal line from Foros to Alushta, near the southern slope of the Crimean hills. This territory occupies a special place in Russian literature and art.

Many historical events are associated with the southern coast of Crimea: the death of Emperor Alexander III in Livadia (1894), the Yalta Conference (1945), the evacuation of the emperor's family (1919) and the White Army (1920) during the Russian Civil War.
